So, what is a partial observer anyway? Partial means part or incomplete. But it can also mean biased or prejudiced. To observe is to see, watch, perceive, or notice. At least that’s what Dictionary.com says.
To me, being a partial observer means that I am subjective in interpreting what I am perceiving with my senses. I am only able to see things from my point of view, hear what I want to hear, taste, touch and smell a small part of the very big picture. The fact that I will never know the truth, since there is no one knowable subjective truth, is very appealing to me.
One of my favorite examples of how our own perspective clouds our judgment is the tale of the 3 blind men touching different parts of an elephant. Is it a wall (body), a tree (leg) or a rope (tail)? They are all wrong since it’s really an elephant. Communicating in modern corporate culture can be quite similar to this. (Elephant story)
Anyway, what I’m trying to say is: “Welcome to my blog!” Constructive feedback is always welcome.
